Green Vacation House 1

This courtyard house opens itself to the landscape and mountain views, offering privacy from the street. This vacation retreat, designed in concert with the prevailing winds, solar exposure and other climatic forces is built with local adobe brick. The angled geometry of the site suggested dividing the living spaces into two wings: a private two-story bedroom wing and a public social living and service wing.

Both volumes of the house are connected by a bridge separating the entry courtyard, and framing the main courtyard with views to the Sierra de la Giganta mountains. Under the desert climate, outdoor circulation connects both volumes and the large main courtyard to the smaller semi-private open spaces.
